~$130
Entry-level cordless cleaner for small above-ground pools. 90-min runtime, single-layer filter. Good for basic maintenance but has reported limitations on battery consistency.
~$300
Upgraded above-ground cleaner with dual suction ports, 90-min runtime, and smart navigation. Handles larger pools and debris better than Scuba SE.
~$400
Best Aiper for in-ground pools. Wall-climbing, 120-min battery, 4-layer filtration, and AI-powered navigation for thorough floor-to-wall coverage.
~$600–700

The Scuba SE ($130) works for small above-ground pools on a budget, but note it has reported battery consistency issues from real users. For medium to large above-ground pools, the Scuba N1 ($300) is the better pick with dual suction ports and smarter navigation.
Yes — for most in-ground pools under 1,000 sq ft, the Scuba S1 at $400 is the sweet spot. You get wall climbing, 120-min runtime, and 4-layer filtration that competes with corded robots costing $600+. For very large pools, step up to the X1 Pro.
The Aiper Seagull Pro was recalled by the CPSC in 2022 due to an electric shock hazard from water infiltrating the charging base. This model was discontinued. The current Scuba lineup (SE, N1, S1, X1 Pro) uses different charging technology and is not part of any recall. Always verify your model's recall status at cpsc.gov.
Dolphin (Maytronics) is the gold standard for corded in-ground cleaners — proven reliability, no battery concerns, and superior cleaning consistency in very large pools. Aiper wins on cordless convenience and price. For most residential in-ground pools, Aiper's Scuba S1 delivers 80-90% of Dolphin's performance at 40-60% of the cost. See our full comparison.
