Honest pool cleaner reviews from someone who actually owns a pool — and has made every mistake in the book.
Pool Owner · 8 Years Experience · Phoenix, AZ
I've owned a 15,000-gallon in-ground pool since 2017. In that time I've gone through 3 manual vacuums, 2 pressure-side cleaners, and now — after testing 6 robotic pool cleaners — I finally understand what matters and what's just marketing. I started AiperReviews.com because I got burned by a $500 purchase based on a "review" that was clearly paid content. Every review here reflects my real-world experience and data from thousands of other pool owners on Amazon, Reddit, and pool owner forums.
Every product we review is tested in an actual pool — not a bathtub. We run each robot on a consistent schedule (3x/week) and track debris collection, battery performance, and navigation quality over 4–6 weeks.
We analyze hundreds to thousands of Amazon reviews per product, specifically filtering for 1-star and 2-star reviews to identify real failure modes — not just what the manufacturer claims. We look for patterns: battery degradation timelines, customer service quality, and durability after 1+ years.
We monitor r/pools, r/poolbots, and pool owner forums like PoolSpaForum.com and TroubleFreePool.com to capture real user experiences that don't show up in Amazon reviews. Community consensus often reveals issues manufacturers suppress.
We don't have a single "best" pick. The best robotic pool cleaner depends on your pool type, size, and budget. Our goal is to match you with the right product — not to push the one that pays us the highest commission.
In 2022, the CPSC issued a recall for the Aiper Seagull Pro (approximately 25,000 units) due to an electric shock hazard caused by water infiltrating the charging base. That model was discontinued.
The current Scuba lineup (SE, N1, S1, X1 Pro) is a completely different product line with a different charging mechanism. We are not aware of any active recalls for these models as of May 2026.
We mention this because we believe in full transparency. Always check CPSC.gov for the most current recall information before purchasing any pool equipment.

This never influences our reviews. We have reviewed products with poor Amazon affiliate conversion rates when they deserve a high rating, and we have rated popular products poorly when the evidence warranted it. Our reputation for honest reviews is more valuable than any commission.
